Overton Square Parking Garage

Structural engineering required to complete the new approximately 437 car cast-in-place 3 level parking structure.  The structure below ground retains approximately 1 million gallons of storm water.   

 

Castalia MBC Family Life Center

A pre-engineered structure approximately 15,000sf with a walking trail (balcony) supported by the framing system.

 

Memphis Business Academy Gym & Class

Structural Design and construction documents for Gym and Classroom building approximately 20,000sf with eight classrooms, 700SF per classroom.

 

Taco Bell Renovation 1447 Union Ave.

Structural design for a  new dining area, approximately 1,700sf. The existing was demolished and replaced with wood construction.

Designed Foundation and superstructure of Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Station for MSCAA,
a 2.5 Million Dollar Project.  The structure is cylindrical shaped steel roof structure with steel and masonry supports and having 100’x65’ clear vehicle/parking/maintenance hall.

The structural consists of an apparatus area and a living area with masonry and steel construction.  The apparatus is designed with a curved steel roof system supported on steel beams and reinforced masonry columns.  It is a one story structure with drive thru bays and a mezzanine over the maintenance and equipment area.  The living area is one story with a curved steel roof system supported on reinforced masonry walls and steel columns. The structure is designed with reinforced masonry shear walls, and concrete pad and continuous footings per 2003 International Building Code.

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Center Memphis, TN

Provide structural design for the foundation and framing system and all related plans and details for new park and recreation center at Memphis fairgrounds

 

Macedonia Baptist Church Fellowship

Structural design for a fellowship hall.  The structural is a pre-engineering metal building approximately 6,000 SF.  

 

8TH Street Baptist Church

Structural design for the foundation and balcony framing.  The structural is approximately 17,000 SF with a balcony of approximately 3,000 SF.   

 

Trinity Grove MB Church Fitness

Foundation design for a fitness center.  The building will be a pre-engineered structure.

 

Ernestine Rivers Child Care Center

Provided structural design for the foundation for a one-story building 10,000 SF pre-engineered day care facility.

 

Cypress Middle School

The concrete roof slab for the connecting corridor of the two story building and one story building at the office requires repair.  We propose to design a support framing system for this area and leave the existing concrete roof slab in place.

 

Krayola Learning Academy

Provide structural design for the foundation of a one-story building 10,000 SF pre-engineered day care facility.

 

CIVIL PROJECTS

I55 Welcome Center Replacement

Site horizontal control design and drawings for construction layout.  The layout design will be coordinated with your office and incorporate applicable TDOT design elements.  Site retaining wall design (if required).  There is currently no site topo survey or new layout available, but based on site visits and conceptual layouts, the necessity for retaining walls in the east portion of the site is a possibility.  This will be a separate additional services item in the Fee Schedule. Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) paving layout and jointing design and drawings.  Site grading and storm drainage design and drawings.  Site storm water detention analysis and design as required by City of Memphis code – see items 9 and 10 on page 2 of this proposal. Utility (domestic water and site fire protection) design and drawings.  Sanitary sewer design and drawing – see item 3 on page 2 of this proposal.  Erosion control design and drawings. Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP.) and Notice of Intent (NOI.) submittal preparation (submittal fee to be paid by Owner).  Sections and details as required and recommended. Pavement design recommendations will be by others – see item 6 on page 2 of this proposal.  Post Construction Runoff Control Plan (PCRCP) as required by the City of Memphis.   Technical specifications as required in CSI format.  Documents preparation in ACAD format as required for all submittal phases, Owner reviews and City of Memphis approvals.

 

Animal Shelter Civil

Horizontal control design and drawing.  Grading and storm drainage design and drawing.  Sanitary sewer design and drawing as required.  Domestic and fire protection water distribution design and drawing.  Erosion control design and drawing as required.  Details and sections if required by new design.  Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) preparation for submittal to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). 

 

I-40 Solar Farm Welcome Center

Layout Plan for all new structures (buildings, walkways, picnic shelters, etc.) within the clouded area shown on the attached pdf.  Finished Grading and Storm Drainage Plan with spot elevations and contours as required for same area.  Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan and related Details Plan for same area.  SWPPP for same area as it will encompass approximately 4.5 acres. SWPPP as the main site work (parking and drives) will obviously require an extensive Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan and related SWPPP.

 

SR 57 Sanitary Sewer Relocation

Surveying

Category I Roadway Corridor Survey of the S.R. 57 right-of-way (approximately 4,650 feet by 300 feet) between Union Avenue Extended and Racine Street.  Locate all existing utilities above and below ground.  Topographic survey within project limits using local datum.  Sanitary Sewer Easement Plats and legal descriptions.  ACAD base map for engineering design

Ground Penetrating Radar Services
Provide ground penetrating radar (GPR) services via a local consultant to locate and verify existing utility locations, sizes, types and depths within affected areas, most especially within new sanitary sewer construction limits.


Civil Design
Sanitary sewer relocation design meeting all applicable City of Memphis and Tennessee Department of Transportation requirements including, but not limited to railroad crossings.
Plan and profile drawings meeting all applicable City of Memphis and Tennessee Department of Transportation requirements.  Erosion control design and drawings as required for inclusion in TDOT submittal to TDEC (all sanitary sewer relocation construction erosion control will be included in overall project SWPPP being developed by others).  Coordination with surveyors to provide required new easement locations’ data for plat development.  Details and sections as required.  Use of Standard City of Memphis Construction Specifications with additional technical specifications as required by new design.  Construction cost estimates.
Drawings will be in AUTOCAD format with interim submittals for Design Document, Construction Document and Bid Document Phases included as required.
Reviews with your office, the Owner and applicable governmental agencies and revisions / additions to the Contract Documents as required obtaining all permits for construction.

Fairview Middle School & Middle College

Utility Plan for portable classrooms’ sanitary sewer and water distribution systems. Required portable classroom water and sewer connection points and line sizes will be provided to our office by others.  New water service will be separately metered through a new single point connection to existing water service.  Technical specifications as required by new design.  Details and sections as required by new design.  Drawings will be in AUTOCAD format.

University Place Hope VI Housing Public Improvements Phase II Memphis, TN

Streetscape design for streets (3) north/south streets and portion of (3) east/west streets.   Design of the 2nd phase of park space on east edge of overall development.  This is an extension of the Phase I park space to the north.  This park has been simplified from the previous proposal.  It includes a retention pond, planting, irrigation, site lighting, and an optional path system.

Structural design, building foundation and floor design & details, prepare technical specification for foundation.

 

University Place Hope VI Housing Public Improvements – Phase I and II Memphis, TN   


Provided design for roadway drainage design and overall site drainage coordination; develop drainage plans and profiles with supporting calculations; coordinate work of subconsultants and ensure delivery of quality product; provide related construction cost estimates; coordinate with civil/site development plans

 

Shelby Farms Greenline Memphis, TN


Designed the crosswalk treatment for at-grade trail crossings including Tillman, Highland, High Point Terrace, Graham, Waring, and Shelby Farms roads.  Phase I treatment includes ADA compliant trail crossing, curb and sidewalk work, bollards, crosswalk striping, and traffic warning signs

 

Tennessee Air National Guard Facility

As part of multiple design teams, civil engineering (grading, storm drainage, extensive underdrains, erosion control, layout and utilities) has been provided for the Administration Package Phase (3 support buildings and a major warehouse). This is the first military project in the United States to incorporate the current Federally mandated security design requirements.

 

Streetscape Improvements in Downtown Memphis, Phase I and II Memphis, TN

Responsible for the civil design of and preparation of contract documents, working with Ritchie Smith Associates, for major multiple downtown Memphis street and alley walkway improvements. This is the prototypical construction for all future downtown street improvements. Design responsibilities included grading and storm drainage, utility coordination and relocation, street plan and profiles for City Engineering approvals, and Construction Administration participation.

Lead Inspector  
A specialized resident inspector position providing construction observation and record-keeping tasks.  These resident inspectors are highly skilled.  They are usually under the direction of supervisory personnel such as an engineer or project manager.  

 

MSCAA Parsons

Clerical 2
Experienced administrative position providing a variety of administrative services in order to support the firm’s overall mission.  Their level of service usually requires them to exercise their decision/problem solving skills at a level that is primarily interdependent upon their managers’ directions and input.
